This is the second part of my
Happy, Healthy, Holy (really and truly to life) triptych.
The main
thing in life is to stay healthy, the main thing is to not get sick. Not have
diseases. Disease is the medicine of suffering and insecurity.
The main problem
of today is stress. The stress of relationships, the stress of economics, the
stress of your environment. It is hard to change or to do something on what’s
going on in the outside world. But you can do something on yourself, on your
body, your mind and the connection with your soul. If you can control, so
manage, yourself, you are in control.
The idea
is, if we can control our body and especially the little monkey in your mind,
then our instinct is going to tell us what to go to do. We create a connection
with the soul and with our purpose instead of not listening to our soul and do
what our surrounding systems ask us to do. Lots of times we do not like to do
those things if we look deeper into ourselves.
It is all
a matter to open yourself to listen to the teacher within yourself. Your own
instinct, your own intuition, your irreplaceable own soul. You start to work
with intuition rather than impulse. You try to develop the intuitive mind. And
in order to develop the intuitive mind you have to learn how to shut the mind
off.
We are
always focused on what is going on in the outside world and not with what is
going on with and in ourselves (focus on the navel, the third eye, the
breathing as an example).
Every aspect of life has an
enlightened, efficient, and effective way to do and to live it. Yogi Bhajan
studied and mastered this technical and spiritual knowledge in India, and
brought this gift in the sixties to the West.
One of the first things that Yogi
Bhajan taught is that it’s the birthright of every human being to be healthy,
happy, and holy (really and truly to life).
The Healthy, Happy and Holy
lifestyle gives us a blueprint for building a healthy, happy, and holy life.
There’s a yogic art and science to
all aspects of human life. This lifestyle—the Kundalini Yoga lifestyle—is a
yoga and lifestyle for everybody.
“The
purpose of all our efforts is simply to extend your awareness in your
consciousness so you can have this foundation in experience and a base in
positive habits. Then you can smoothly plan your life to any extent you like.
You can radiate creativity and Infinity in all aspects of your life. That is
the practical result of yoga. It is the capacity and right to live a healthy, happy,
and holy life. That is why we called our yoga family Happy, Healthy and
Holy.”

This week’s blog some words of me
about Health:
Talking about health in general, in
my opinion, you only can do in a holistic way. Health has to do with the
personal right balance in this holistic approach. The World Health Organization
(WHO) defined human health as "a state of complete physical, mental, and
social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. An
alternative approach focuses on avoiding definitions has been conceptualized as
the ability to adapt and self-manage when individuals and communities face
physical, mental or social challenges.
That’s all nice but what is
holistic health for me? Once I used this explanation during several classes of
the so called Fitness Bootcamp programs at the place where I live.
Feeling healthy has to do with being fit, happy, wise and free.
Holistic health is the whole picture
where everything matters. And when everything is well taking care of, your physical body, your mind, your spirit, your emotions, your social environment, all of you must all going well.
So life
flows well!
To take a
holistic approach means exploring the
many varied components of health like a holistic
medicine.
An
integrated combination of: Diet, attitude, rest, exercise, style (lifestyle).
True and lasting happiness comes when you put
all the many puzzle pieces of your life together, without neglecting any
important segment of your life.
But when
something is not paid attention to. When something is ignored life does not go
well. So it is really looking at the whole picture. The whole you. And making
sure that every part of you gets enough attention (what does not mean the same
amount of attention). Thus is not neglected. So you can have a whole happy
life.
All your health parts
must be in order.
In many ways, we are like a luxury jet. As long as everything is working
properly, we soar through life enjoying the ride. However, if we neglect key
components like the engine or the electrical wiring or don't account for
changes from aging, take time for refueling, tutoring our pilots and crew
members, stay in permanent contact with control towers, we slow down. We may
even crash. And we'll soon start to think: this isn't how life is supposed to
be.
Balance can be the
key.
The key to success, health and happiness, of course is balance and take enough
time to recharge energy instead of only giving away. Those who devote hours to
keeping their bodies in top physical condition, but jump from one relationship
to the next are off balance. Just like others who boast very successful
businesses yet suffer from being a workaholic, do not have sufficient real rest without disturbance (sleeplessness),
don’t eat well (healthy) and/or suffer from signs of burn-out. For them,
financial success isn't freeing at all.
When you are only running in the rat race (for
you called ‘life’) being connected with the past or the future you are not
aware of any present the present moment can give you…
The past is history, the future a mystery, the
present moment can be a present. A rich
man can be poor but a ‘poor’ man can be rich. So try to be and live aware and
mindful. Maybe meditation can help you with this and give you more in-sight.
Tune in and give your
life a tune up.
Work on optimal living. That’s taking care for yourself first and to make
choices!
When you, in a holistic way, are not in a 100%
good shape, you cannot be there for 100% for the world around you.
So there are healthy and unhealthy ways to face
the inevitable challenges that come your way. Try to find the best (holistic) way
for you to hurdle those obstacles while remaining physically, psychologically,
and spiritually healthy throughout your life's journey. When this happens, life
is good! Enjoy the
here and now. Enjoy the journey!
- Physical: Good nutrition,
exercise. Deal with and be aware of the 5 senses: feel/taste/see/hear/smell.
- Mental: Your thinking mind and free balance (meditation probably can be a key).
- Emotional: Has to do with inner feeling,
with letting go, forgiveness/cleansing.
- Spiritual: Has to do with the connection with the earth, with having versus giving, with getting (receiving) and also with open up for creativity.
- Causal / environmental: Is about your behavior,
your pattering (habits), and healthy environment/biotope.
