Triptych happy, healthy, HOLY (really and truly to life) (3)

This is the third part of my Happy, Healthy, Holy (really and truly to life) triptych.

Every aspect of life has an enlightened, efficient, and effective way to do and to live it. Yogi Bhajan studied and mastered this technical and spiritual knowledge in India, and brought this gift in the sixties to the West.
One of the first things that Yogi Bhajan taught is that it’s the birthright of every human being to be healthy, happy, and holy (really and truly to life).

The Healthy, Happy and Holy lifestyle gives us a blueprint for building a healthy, happy, and holy life.
There’s a yogic art and science to all aspects of human life. This lifestyle—the Kundalini Yoga lifestyle—is a yoga and lifestyle for everybody.

The purpose of all our efforts is simply to extend your awareness in your consciousness so you can have this foundation in experience and a base in positive habits. Then you can smoothly plan your life to any extent you like. You can radiate creativity and Infinity in all aspects of your life. That is the practical result of yoga. It is the capacity and right to live a healthy, happy, and holy life. That is why we called our yoga family Happy, Healthy and Holy.”

Yogi Bhajan –

This week’s blog some words of me about: HOLY (REALLY AND TRULY TO LIFE):

Holy is another name for sacred. Sacred means revered due to sanctity and is generally a state associated with divinity and considered worthy of spiritual respect or devotion. It can have associations with religion but this is not at all necessary.

Most people, if they enter a so called ‘sacred’ space or environment feel a different, sometime serene energy. A different connection. Feeling of peace and light. Sometimes even initiating emotion and devotion. Maybe even without knowing anything more or deeper about it they feel there is ‘more’ between heaven and earth.

As a stretcher carrier for instance I have been many times to Lourdes, a pilgrimage in the South of France. It is said ‘wonders appear’ there. In my opinion they really appear. Especially between people who see and experience there is even more suffering than they experience in their own life. It makes them serene, understanding, and connected to life.

Really and truly to life has everything to do with this holy concept. To accept who and what you are. A unique creature, human being. It invites you to be and to live who and what you are and to fulfill your purpose in life. Be yourself. Grow by sharing your uniqueness. The world is waiting for just and only that as a heroes journey. Don’t try to be somebody else, don’t believe marketing, live really and truly in life who YOU are.

Everybody else is already taken…

Triptych happy, HEALTHY, holy (really and truly to life) (2)

This is the second part of my Happy, Healthy, Holy (really and truly to life) triptych.

The main thing in life is to stay healthy, the main thing is to not get sick. Not have diseases. Disease is the medicine of suffering and insecurity.

The main problem of today is stress. The stress of relationships, the stress of economics, the stress of your environment. It is hard to change or to do something on what’s going on in the outside world. But you can do something on yourself, on your body, your mind and the connection with your soul. If you can control, so manage, yourself, you are in control.

The idea is, if we can control our body and especially the little monkey in your mind, then our instinct is going to tell us what to go to do. We create a connection with the soul and with our purpose instead of not listening to our soul and do what our surrounding systems ask us to do. Lots of times we do not like to do those things if we look deeper into ourselves.

It is all a matter to open yourself to listen to the teacher within yourself. Your own instinct, your own intuition, your irreplaceable own soul. You start to work with intuition rather than impulse. You try to develop the intuitive mind. And in order to develop the intuitive mind you have to learn how to shut the mind off.

We are always focused on what is going on in the outside world and not with what is going on with and in ourselves (focus on the navel, the third eye, the breathing as an example).

This week’s blog some words of me about Health:

Talking about health in general, in my opinion, you only can do in a holistic way. Health has to do with the personal right balance in this holistic approach. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined human health as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. An alternative approach focuses on avoiding definitions has been conceptualized as the ability to adapt and self-manage when individuals and communities face physical, mental or social challenges.

That’s all nice but what is holistic health for me? Once I used this explanation during several classes of the so called Fitness Bootcamp programs at the place where I live.

Feeling healthy has to do with being fit, happy, wise and free.
Holistic health is the whole picture where everything matters. And when everything is well taking care of, your physical body, your mind, your spirit, your emotions, your social environment, all of you must all going well.
So life flows well!

To take a holistic approach means exploring the many varied components of health like a holistic medicine.
An integrated combination of: Diet, attitude, rest, exercise, style (lifestyle).
True and lasting happiness comes when you put all the many puzzle pieces of your life together, without neglecting any important segment of your life.

But when something is not paid attention to. When something is ignored life does not go well. So it is really looking at the whole picture. The whole you. And making sure that every part of you gets enough attention (what does not mean the same amount of attention). Thus is not neglected. So you can have a whole happy life.

All your health parts must be in order.
In many ways, we are like a luxury jet. As long as everything is working properly, we soar through life enjoying the ride. However, if we neglect key components like the engine or the electrical wiring or don't account for changes from aging, take time for refueling, tutoring our pilots and crew members, stay in permanent contact with control towers, we slow down. We may even crash. And we'll soon start to think: this isn't how life is supposed to be.

Balance can be the key.
The key to success, health and happiness, of course is balance and take enough time to recharge energy instead of only giving away. Those who devote hours to keeping their bodies in top physical condition, but jump from one relationship to the next are off balance. Just like others who boast very successful businesses yet suffer from being a workaholic, do not have sufficient real rest without disturbance (sleeplessness), don’t eat well (healthy) and/or suffer from signs of burn-out. For them, financial success isn't freeing at all.
When you are only running in the rat race (for you called ‘life’) being connected with the past or the future you are not aware of any present the present moment can give you…

The past is history, the future a mystery, the present moment can be a present.  A rich man can be poor but a ‘poor’ man can be rich. So try to be and live aware and mindful. Maybe meditation can help you with this and give you more in-sight.

Tune in and give your life a tune up.
Work on optimal living. That’s taking care for yourself first and to make choices!
When you, in a holistic way, are not in a 100% good shape, you cannot be there for 100% for the world around you.
So there are healthy and unhealthy ways to face the inevitable challenges that come your way. Try to find the best (holistic) way for you to hurdle those obstacles while remaining physically, psychologically, and spiritually healthy throughout your life's journey. When this happens, life is good! Enjoy the here and now. Enjoy the journey!

  • Physical: Good nutrition, exercise. Deal with and be aware of the 5 senses: feel/taste/see/hear/smell.
  • Mental: Your thinking mind and free balance (meditation probably can be a key).
  • Emotional: Has to do with inner feeling, with letting go, forgiveness/cleansing.
  • Spiritual: Has to do with the connection with the earth, with having versus giving, with getting (receiving) and also with open up for creativity.
  • Causal / environmental: Is about your behavior, your pattering (habits), and healthy environment/biotope.

Triptych HAPPY, healthy, holy (really and truly to life) (1)

Happy Chinese Guest Olivia with my happy dog Kadhow
I am nearly finished with my teacher training to become a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher. Can you imagine, starting to do such a training at the young age of sixty?
My dad became a (Hata) Yoga teacher at the age of 54 and reached very healthy and still practicing yoga the age of 93. I cannot guarantee that yet and still. There is something to reach ;).

For me this training was and is a wonderful experience and introduction to a much more free and even more happy, healthy and 'holy' (really and truly to life) life.

People who know me already, know one of the things in the purpose/mission/calling of my life is to grow by sharing. Briefly, this calling compels me to use my background and growth experiences in becoming a catalyst for change:  My change process facilitates transformation into people to get (new) growth and renewed flow.

So out of the experiences of this Yoga training it’s nice and easy for me to share some new insights with you.

That's why today I start with a triptych: "Happy, Healthy, Holy (really and truly to life)".

- Yogi Bhajan

This week’s blog some words of me about Happiness:

"Naturally, the sour taste of lemon cannot be tasted unless it is pressed. In the same way, when the human life has never faced any difficulty or trouble, it will not find the way of happiness and success."

Several times I already paid attention to this word. Looking deeply into this word out of Buddhism you can give the word the basic explanation: “Peace of mind”. For me so far this fits the best in relation to my experiences here with guests as well in my private life.
The Kundalini Yoga teacher training again brought me into contact with that word and it’s wonderful to dig even deeper. To explore more.

Actually very few people know and no one can tell you what happiness is because happiness cannot be described.

What makes you happy or unhappy is not the world or the people around you, but the thinking in your head. There is only one cause of unhappiness: the false beliefs in your head. Your programming is so strong and the pressure of society, culture, even religion and lots of times marketing is so intense that you are literally trapped into perceiving the world in this distorted kind of way. You are brainwashed and not even aware of it.

The search for happiness in the world outside of you is wasting your energy. You can stop trying to cure baldness or build up an attractive body or change your residence or job or community or even your personality. Do you realize that you could change every one of these things and still be unhappy?
And deep down you know this is true but still you waste your effort and energy trying to get what cannot make you happy.

Understand your false believes and they will drop. Then you will know the taste of happiness. If people want happiness so badly, why don’t they attempt to understand their false beliefs?

Instead of living a life of serenity and fulfillment they doomed themselves to a life of frustration, anxiety, worry, insecurity, suspense and tension. For a few fleeting moments the world does, indeed, yield their efforts and rearranges itself to suit their desires. They become briefly happy. Or rather, they experience a flash of pleasure. But that’s not happiness at all for it is accompanied by underlying fear that at any moment it will slip out of control.

If you wish to attain to lasting happiness you must be ready to leave all your clinging to your attachments. Clinging to people, clinging to possessions. Not by renouncing them or giving them up but rather by seeing them for the nightmare the clinging many times is.

An attachment isn’t a fact. It’s a belief, a fantasy in your head, acquired through programming. You have become a prisoner to them. Almost every negative emotion you experience is the direct outcome of an attachment. Get rid of their grip over you. Their power to hurt you, out of your darkness, your fear, your unhappiness. To stop clinging and thus you destroy their capacity to hurt you.

In order to be genuinely happy there is one and only one thing you need to do; get de-programmed, get rid of those attachments.

Then at last you will experience that mysterious state of abiding happiness and peace. And you will understand how true it is that everyone who stops clinging to whatever it is gains more bliss.

No rebirth (yet) and yet already a new name, a valued gift.

After living here in Thailand for about half a year, I came across a meditation teacher who had received a new (soul) name from his Buddhist teacher from India. I was curious about this and wanted to have a new name in relation to the activities in the field of meditation, life and talent coaching, Buddhist philosophy and later also yoga that I practice here. As well. However, that turned out to be easier thought and said than really done. I have ventured various attempts, went to a shaman, monks and even to the Buddhist University here in Chiang Mai and… did not succeed.

When I started my training to become a Kundalini Awareness Yoga teacher a couple of months ago, the school talked about the possibility to use your soul / spiritual name in your life and as a teacher. Not a necessary thing but a possibility.
Listening to that story my five year old ‘now sleeping’ wish woke up again. How is that possible I wondered? I tried already many times.

So talking about this my school made effort to get my soul name and after sharing some more personal background information they send a request. As I understood to a kind of gathering somewhere in India. The whole process (for me) took about six weeks waiting.

So recently, and after five years finally, this February 28th, I got out of India my soul name:

Gangey Gruma Báisjá.

(The wise man with humor and calmness in and to love, power and peace.)

The explanation is: The sacred King of wisdom, power and peace. Whose soul reflects a calm and radiant energy.

Gangey = wise man of and in, love, humor and peace. Gruma means ‘I’ (Frans). The name Baisja is King of wisdom. The Chand (this are all the three parts of the name together) refers to "The wise man with humor and calmness in and to love, power and peace."

I will use that name (Gangey Gruma) for sure linked to my purpose of being a catalyst in transformations.

So, maybe a strange story and possibly you cannot understand. No problem. You are up-to-date again.
